Episode Transcription

Kim Sutton: I have a question for you, am I all alone in that I Speak Typo? Seriously, some days, it just feels like my brain and my mouth refuse to connect. Just before recording this episode, I was batch recording a whole series of the numbered intros, the one at the beginning of this episode that said, welcome to the Positive Productivity Podcast, Episode #347.

Anyway, I was bad recording those intros for episodes number 370 to 399. And for some reason, my brain just did not want to connect between positive and productivity. Over and over again, I felt like productivity was just coming out wrong, that I was leaving out a syllable, and it took me three times as long. And by the end, I was adding in cuss words, and I was laughing at myself and leaving notes for my editor, which I eventually edited out because she didn’t need to hear any of that, and she just wants the numbers. But even in the episodes with guests, there have been times when I say my name wrong. I say their name wrong. Just about every single episode, I say the name of my podcast wrong. There’s just like a block. It’s almost as though typos get inserted into my brainwaves and make their way out of my mouth.

If you’re like me, I want to hear about it. And I also want to let you know that you are not alone. Sometimes, those moments just happen. And when people apologize for their typos now, I just write back, don’t worry about it. I speak typo too. I’ve now even added a disclaimer to my text messages that Siri and I are not always kimpatible. Not COMpatible, but KIMpatible. Because I will be driving down the road, and I’m not going to use my fingers to actually type out a message. So I will use series text capability, is that how you call it? Voice recognition to send text messages while I am driving. And the ridiculousness, that gets sent. Oh, my gosh, I swear I could be arrested for some of the garbage. They get sent to people. It’s not that I’m trying to be rude. It’s just that she and I do not get along, and she puts random stuff into my text messages. So now, that’s a disclaimer. I apologize for typos. Siri and I are not always compatible.

Give yourself grace for those days that you’re speaking typo. We’re all human. Who cares if he comes before I or the other way around. Just get your point out and let somebody else worry about the grammar and the spelling. What matters most is your message. So don’t be afraid to share it, typos and all. I speak typos, and I would love to hear your feedback on this episode so join me at thekimsutton.com/pp347, and leave a comment below the show notes.

Now with all this said, go forth and make it a positive and productive day.
