QUICK NOTES – LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED FOR:
Since opening the doors to my business in 2012, I have witnessed and experienced the benefits/destructiveness of the good, the bad and the ugly of entrepreneurs and online influencers.
As a Christian entrepreneur, and having learned from my own mistakes and life experiences, I feel it is my responsibility to live my life in integrity, in truth, and with the intention of making a positive impact on my community and the communities of my peers.
Today’s video was hard for me to make. To be honest, I feel somewhat guilty for news jacking the stories of Kobe Bryant and Elizabeth Warren. However… I feel what I say this in this video needs to be said.
As an influencer, I want to support you to live the life you want to be remembered for.
Please comment below with your thoughts, and share this video with those you feel will benefit from it.
And, again, live the life you want to be remembered for.

Are you living the life that you would want to be remembered for?
Are you saying the things that you want to say that really deserve to be said? On a consistent, daily basis?
Are the words that you are saying the words that you want to be remembered for? Or do you often have words spill out of your mouth before you even have a… before you even have a time to think about what you’re saying?
In this session of Next Level Mondays, I’m going to talk all about how you need to be live the life that you want to be remembered for.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I don’t generally talk about politics or sports in anything that I do. But, on this day, the day that I record this, there’s a lot going on in the United States, and I felt that it was important to talk about some of these topics.
I know that some people might not like what I have to say, but I hope you will respect my opinion because I will always respect yours.
The first thing that I want to touch upon is that Kobe Bryant died yesterday in a helicopter crash along with a number of other people, including his daughter.
I was working in my bedroom this morning listening to news with my husband, and I heard about a reporter who was suspended because she was bringing up some of the not so glamorous parts of Kobe’s past. And, I felt that that was really unfortunate.
I think that there are way too many entrepreneurs and business people in general, who will say things to get attention, when in fact, the words that they say can have very detrimental and devastating results about the people that they say them about.
In 2019, I had a client that I was white labeling for lie and say that I hadn’t completed the work that I did. And, the client who I was directly working through — even though they knew that I had done the work — decided to preserve their reputation and refund that client for the money that they had gotten. That client then came back to me and said that I needed to pay the money back to them.
I don’t think it was even considered by the client that I had built a funnel for, built a website for, done a lot of work for — or maybe they just didn’t care — about the results that it would have on me and my family, my business, my team members, my community.
And I think that if we’re going to truly get to the next level in our business with a reputation that we want to be remembered for, we need to stop putting ourselves first regardless of how much attention we want, how much visibility we want, how much money we want. And, we need to think about how we are impacting other people.
I would love to hear your thoughts. By the way, if you like where I’m going with this already, then like, subscribe, comment.
I think it’s unfortunate that this reporter decided to dig up Kobe’s past because number one, it was hours after his death.
I will tell you that I have so many skeletons in my past. I was thinking about sharing some of those today, but you really don’t need to hear them. If you want to hear a couple I’ll tell you.
I mean, I smoked pot my senior year of high school. I showed up at my homecoming game. my senior year of high school absolutely stoned.
Somebody could dig that up if I ever decided to run for political office, or if I became famous and then passed away in some big disaster, somebody could go dig that up. Because, there’s people who know, and now so do you, that I was stoned out of my mind at my senior high school football game.
I don’t smoke pot anymore. I am severely allergic and I do not like what it does to my, to my mental processes, but there’s one.
I also lied constantly until I was 30. I used lying as a defense mechanism.
I didn’t realize that I could tell the truth and and not get in trouble.
I mean, there have been times in my business today that there’s part of me that just wants to make up a fake excuse for why can’t do something.
And, I committed to myself in 2010, so a decade ago, that I was going to live this next stage of my life, in truth. No lies.
By the way, if this is the first time that you’ve heard this, 2010 was when I left my first husband.
I used a lot of lies to protect myself with him, and I can’t say that they were necessary.
So, we need to live in truth.
Live in truth.
There are so many people who value the truth as much as it may suck. But, I’ll tell you, here’s an… here’s a very funny example.
If I took my husband to go clothes shopping, which I absolutely detest (clothes shopping), by the way, and he told me that something looked good when it actually looked really bad, (now I’m conscious about what I’m wearing) I wouldn’t want to hear that it looked great.
And I… and I think that he has enough respect for me, I know that he has enough respect for me, to say “Why don’t you try on a different one?“
But, when we lie to people, it’s not doing them justice.
When we are telling people that their website looks fantastic, and it looks like poop, we’re not helping them.
When we tell them that their emails flow great when we know that they are over-salesy, and it doesn’t sound like them at all, that’s not helping them.
I am not helping my clients build their community if I tell them that everything is awesome, instead of telling them the truth, but we don’t need to go dig up things from people’s past in order to shine the light on us.
So, that’s the first thing that I wanted to talk about today.
The second thing is on the topic of truth.
Now… I’m not… I don’t know if I want to say her name, but now I gotta say her name. There’s a person running for political office here in the States, who some people say has lied considerably in the past. And in one of the supposed lies — and I’m not this person — I’m not going to say the name because I don’t want to be searched. I don’t want to come up into search results for her name — there is a story where she supposedly lost a job because she was pregnant.
If you’re here in the States, you probably know what I’m talking about.
I don’t know if that story is true. I’m not her. I’m also not the boss. But, if it was not true, and now she is dragging somebody’s name through the mud, if it’s not true, that could that could devastate his life that could devastate his career.
It’s appalling to me to think if this person is actually lying, that this is who we could possibly be electing to be a leader in our community.
I am not working to move to the next level in my life — in my personal life and my business life –through lies.
I do not want to teach my daughters, I do not want to teach my sons, to get to the next level with lies. They are who they are, and they are beautiful.
You are who you are and you are beautiful.
You don’t need to lie to get to the next level.
Again, I don’t know if this political candidate, this presidential candidate, is lying or not. I am not her.
But, I know that I’m walking in my truth. And, while my truth might be very different from yours, I’m not going to pretend to be you and I’m not going to make up stories to get to the next level in my life.
That’s not what I want to be remembered for. I don’t want to be remembered for lying to get to the next level.
I don’t want it to be uncovered that even though I said I have a huge house in lots of cars, I don’t want somebody to come to my door knock on it, take pictures and and show. “This is who Kim said she was this is who she actually is. What a phony.“
No thanks.
I know this might not feel like positive productivity, but I really want to encourage you to live the life you want to be remembered for.
