Kim Sutton: Today, I have a big request for you. And it’s actually not so much a request as a plea. As a driver, as a coach, as a marketing strategist, please for the love of all that is holy, use your directionals. I’ve shared before on previous episodes of the Positive Productivity Podcasts that I am inspired for my episodes when I’m out doing this, that, and every other thing in my life.

In this episode came out of inspiration last night as I was driving home from daycare with my three littles. There was a car ahead of me that refused to use the directionals, and I just wanted to know if I could go around, or where they were going. And every single time they turned the same way I was turning or changing lanes into the lane I was trying to get into. They didn’t use a directional. I see this so many times in business as well, with entrepreneurs who have no plan for where they are going. It’s like they’re drunk driving all over the kingdom come, trying to figure out where they’re going next. And usually, it doesn’t turn out well. Rather than getting pulled over for a DWI or DUI, depending on where you live, the brakes are put on their business, and they’re left with nothing. When this happens, it’s like we’re in business jail with a big bond over our head, and no way of coming up with the funds.

When we’re chasing ideas all over the place, which I have been guilty of myself, we’re not leading ourself anywhere good. We need to choose one idea at a time to work with, and then lay out the roadmap for how to get there.

So the next time you go out driving, or the next time you decide to embark on a new project or idea within your business, use your directional, have your map in front of you, and light your whole team or the other drivers on the road. Know where you are going.

Now with all this said, go forth and make it a positive and productive day.
