Can I ask you a favor for today’s episode? If you relate to anything that I am talking about, please leave a comment at the bottom of the page. I would love to hear if you have gone through or go through any of the same situations as I talk about today.

I want to talk to you about finding humor in life’s flounders. I don’t know about you, but I have a tendency to laugh when I probably shouldn’t. For example, when I’m a little bit uncomfortable, I tend to laugh as my coping mechanism. As a mom of five, I also laugh when I shouldn’t, you know… The kids cuss with words that they learn at daycare.

Finding Humor in Life’s Flounders

My husband and I have to turn our heads or put our faces into our hands just so that the littles don’t know that we’re laughing.

I don’t know if it’s out of shock or really because we are finding it funny, but those laughs get us through what could be a very uncomfortable situations. On the flip side, I also find it necessary to laugh when we are going through hardships in order to lift our spirits and pull them through.

Since I started my business in 2012. we have faced more than a few financial struggles. In one particular struggle, our water actually got shut off. Just so you know, we did have it back on within 24 hours. However, it was a little bit more than a little uncomfortable.

As it turned out, however, the day that the water was shut off, it snowed. I don’t know where you live, but here, outside of Dayton, Ohio, we don’t get a tremendous lot of snow in the winter, so it was really good fortune for us that it snowed that day.

I know that for years to come, we’ll be laughing about the fact that we put buckets and bowls into the backyard so that we could gather the snow and have water to flush with.

There have been other times when I’ve been setting up marketing funnels and have put  placeholder text into emails and forgotten before I clicked the launch button. Thankfully, this has been for my own marketing funnels and not for clients, but people have gotten emails that said, “Hey, insert merge field here.

Thanks to my awesome community, I got a few emails back that said, “Hey Kim, my name is actually (insert their name here).

I laughed about it and I hope my community did, too.

Finding Humor in Life’s Flounders

Through these struggles that we face, whether they be financial or health or business or with our family, we have to do our best to find humor so that we can keep moving in good spirits.

We are not going to be able to create a better tomorrow if we cannot appreciate everything today, even our flounders.

If you’re having a rough day, take a look at what’s going on and find something to laugh at. I guarantee you it will lift your spirits and allow you to move forward a little bit easier.

With that said, go forth and have a positive and productive day.
