Enjoying the Journey Rather Than Pursuing the Destination
As a digital marketer, I’ve been trained to help my clients show their prospects the destination where they will find themselves if they purchase my clients products.
I’ve been encouraged to help my clients forget about the journey and just show their prospects the big hurrah they’ll obtain once they reach that desired outcome that purchasing the product or program will offer.
However, in a call this morning with my accountability partners, a very interesting topic came up. And this revolves around our own journeys versus our destination.
As we live our lives, often we can be looking at the destination that we want to be reaching, and we often forget about where we are right now.
The final destination often moves drastically over the course of our journey. And sometimes it can even feel like that destination has jumped to the complete other side of the map.
We may feel like we are on the top of a globe being spun around over and over again. And, when the globe finally stops spinning, we have no idea what direction we’re facing in.
What if, however, where we are at the top of that globe is exactly where we’re supposed to be at this present moment.
Enjoying the Journey Rather Than Pursuing the Destination
What if we’re supposed to be enjoying where we are right now and making the most of it, instead of being so focused on our next pitstop of life?
What if we’re supposed to be focused right now on making an impact on the community around us, instead of worrying about where our next income is going to come from?
Enjoying the Journey Rather Than Pursuing the Destination
Today, I want to encourage you to stop worrying about the destination and start enjoying the journey.
Enjoy the people that you are traveling with.
Enjoy your tribe and your community, and enjoy your friends and family and loved ones around you.
You have the right and the responsibility to enjoy every single moment of every single day.
You don’t have to do anything. You get to do everything. You get to take this journey of life.
So today, I want to encourage you to enjoy it. Tomorrow and next week, next month, next year, there will be plenty of detours. And when we hit that fork in the road, we can deal with it then. But today, our only responsibility is to be happy with where we are.
With that said, go forth and have a positive and productive day.
